Day 01: Arrival in Delhi
Delhi pays an ideal host to your Golden Triangle with Tiger tour. On your arrival in the capital city you will be accorded a warm reception from our staff representative at the airport. You will also be assisted to check in to prebooked hotel. An overnight stay in the hotel is scheduled. Dinner is optional.
Day 02: Delhi
Post breakfast you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city.
Delhi is a vibrant Indian city which is a main centre of various political and business activities. The city has witnessed the rise and fall of several dynasties which ruled the soil. Old Delhi and New Delhi ideally represents Delhi as a whole. The city has various tourist attractions keeping alive the interest of world wide tourist. Some of the highlights include : Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, Chandni Chowk, Humayun Tomb, India Gate, President House, Lotus Temple, Birla Temple, Qutub Minar.
In the evening enjoy Sound and Light Show at Red Fort. A traditional Indian dinner at an authentic Indian restaurant follows. Later retire at the hotel for an overnight.
Day 03: Delhi - Jaipur
On this third day of your Golden Triangle with Khajuraho Tour you will be driven to Jaipur from Delhi. The journey will cover around 258 kilometres.
On your arrival in Jaipur you will be checked in a hotel assisted by our staff representative.
Stay overnight in Jaipur after enjoying a sumptuous dinner at the hotel.
Day 04: Jaipur
Post breakfast you will explore and enjoy a sightseeing tour in Jaipur. Your trip starts with a visit to the Amber Fort mounting upon elephant backs. The various attractions in Amber Fort include the Sheesh Mahal, Ganesh Pol, Shila Devi Temple, Kesar Kyari Bagh.
In the evening enjoy rickshaw ride through the streets of the Pink city. Stay overnight at the hotel after enjoying a sumptuous dinner.
Day 05: Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
Today morning take breakfast in the hotel, you will leave for Agra, en-route visiting the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital of the Mughals, which was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other Palaces which are still preserved in its original glory. After lunch drive to Agra. Arrive Agra in the afternoon and check-in at hotel.
Day 06: Agra
Morning at sunrise visit the magnificient Taj Mahal - one of the seven wonders of the world surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 22 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife. Also visit the Red fort - the rusty and majestic red- sandstone fort of Agra stands on the banks of the river Yamuna and the construction was started by Emperor Akbar in 1566. At the Diwan-I-Am (hall of public audience), a colonnaded hall of red-sandstone with a throne alcove of inlaid marble at the back, the Emperor heard public petitions. At the Diwan-I-Khas (hall of private audience) where marble pavilions with floral inlays lend an ethereal ambience, the Emperor sat on his gem-studded peacock Throne and met foreign ambassadors and rulers of friendly kingdoms. Evening free to explore the rich handicrafts of Agra. Overnight stay in Agra.
Day 07: Agra - Jhansi - Orchha
After an early breakfast in hotel & transfer to railway station to board the train to Jhansi, Arrive Jhansi & drive to Orchha & transfer to hotel.
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and proceed to Orchha (18 kms) and check-in at hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Orchha, overlooked by the modern era, this beautiful medieval town, was once the capital of Bundela Kings. Built along the banks of the river Betwa, flowing through a rugged country side, it still retains the captivating air of a bygone era. Amongst the various imposing edifices, of particular interest are the Jehangiri Mahal, built by Raja Bir Singh Deo to commemorate the visit of Moghul Emperor Jehangir, the Raj Mahal and the Laxmi narayan temple, both noted for their fine Frescoes and Mural paintings. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08: Orchha - Khajuraho
Morning drive to Khajuraho (150 kms) and upon arrival check-in at hotel. Half day visit to Eastern group of temples .
Eastern group of temples: Visit to Eastern Group of Temples. The Eastern Group of temples include the Ghantai Temple, Vamana Temple dedicated to the "Vamana" or dwarf incarnation of Lord Vishnu and the Javari Temple. There are also three Jain Temples with beautiful carvings and non-erotic sculptures.
Day 09: Khajuraho
After an early breakfast visit Western Group of Temples.
Western Group of Temples: built between 950 & 1050 AD by the mighty warrior kings of the Chandela dynasty, in a truly inspired burst of creativity. Temples are famous for the magnificent carvings depicting numerous sexual postures of the famous 'Kamasutra' ancient Indian work on sex. Only 22 temples survive of the 85 originally built. In fact, worship is still done today in the Matangeshwara temple, continuing an unbroken 1000 year tradition.
Khajuraho - Varanasi
Afternoon transfer to airport for flight to Varanasi. On arrival in Varanasi, the guest will be met by our representative and proceed for sightseeing tour of Sarnath.
Sarnath, just 5 miles from Varanasi. One of the holiest Buddhist sites, it is at the deer park at Sarnath that the Lord Buddha preached his first sermon in 590 BC. A pillar was erected by Emperor Asoka to commemorate the site. You can also see the ruins of a once flourishing Buddhist monastery here along with a museum famous for its rich collection of some of the best sculptures of Buddha and other Buddhist relics.
Day 10: Varanasi
Early morning boat ride on the sacred river Ganges to see the cremation Ghats and witness the living traditions of one of the world's oldest and most important religions. Visit some of the many Hindu temples that line the river Ganges. Stroll along the narrow lanes and bazaars full of shops selling, among other things, the world famous Benaras Silks.
This afternoon visit the Bharat Mata Temple, Durga temple, Tulsi Manas mandir, Banaras Hindu University which has an art gallery, Kashi Vishwanath Temple etc. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 11: Varanasi - Delhi - Departure
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Airport to take a flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi Airport assistance in transferring to International Airport to board your onward flight.
